A) With biotin-BMCC only, reaction occurrence in prior at more accessible sites (hinge < inter-H&L chains)
B) In the presence of free maleimide in addition to biotin-BMCC,
¡æ Competitive reaction of these two species for the sulfhydryl moieties at the inter-H&L chains (site 1). Coupling of biotin BMCC to the sulfhydryl groups at the hinge region (site 2).
